Supplier Confirms iPhone Ultra Set for September Launch Alongside iPhone 18 Pro

Reports from the Chinese supply chain reveal factories have begun delivering the initial batches of iPhone Ultra components, suggesting the launch will proceed as originally planned in September 2026.

This comes amid earlier rumors suggesting that the top-tier premium smartphone, the iPhone Ultra, might be delayed until late in the year or even early 2027.

Recently, sources from China's supply chain disclosed information consistent with the original schedule, confirming that Apple's most expensive smartphone in history will launch as planned in September alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro.

Previously, Barclays analysts reported in March that the iPhone Ultra's launch might be postponed until December.

Meanwhile, Nikkei Asia later reported that engineering challenges could push the launch to early 2027, noting Apple’s past experiences with delayed releases such as the iPhone X, iPhone XR, and iPhone 14 Plus, which all launched later than the usual September cycle.

However, the narrative shifted when Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman commented that any device delays would likely be minor, suggesting an October launch is more probable than December.

This aligns with insider information from the Fixed Focus Digital account, which confirmed the likelihood of the iPhone Ultra launching with the iPhone 18 Pro, and if delays occur, they would not exceed one month, while dismissing reports of prolonged postponements as inaccurate.

Recently, DigiTimes and China Securities Journal cited sources from Apple's component factories, stating that suppliers have started delivering small batches of parts for Apple's first foldable smartphone, along with receiving clear operational guidelines confirming a September launch.

Another supply chain source also confirmed there are no signs indicating a launch delay.

With information stabilizing, it is now highly likely Apple will officially announce the foldable iPhone in September, with the only remaining question being whether it will be available immediately alongside the iPhone 18 Pro or released up to a month later.
