Apple Expands iPhone Lineup in 2027 with 6 Models Released in Two Batches

The launch of the iPhone 18 Series may be Apple's first to include six models in a single lineup, divided into two release phases: the first in September, and the second in early 2027.

Apple is set for its largest number of new iPhone models in one year, spanning from September 2026 through early 2027. Information from Digital Chat Station shared on the Weibo platform reveals that Apple will split the launches into two periods.

Starting in September 2026, the flagship group will launch, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra. The standard models—iPhone 18, iPhone Air 2, and iPhone 18e—are expected to debut in early 2027, likely no later than March.

According to specs from Digital Chat Station, the iPhone Air 2 will have a 6.55-inch display with 1.5K resolution and up to a 120Hz refresh rate, featuring an LTPO OLED screen.

The iPhone 18 will have a 6.3-inch screen with similar specifications, while the iPhone 18e will feature a 6.12-inch 1.5K display but with a 60Hz refresh rate. Its screen will be LTPS OLED.

Regarding the screens, the iPhone Air 2 and iPhone 18 are expected to retain their previous sizes and technologies, matching earlier forecasts. The iPhone 18e is also likely to follow suit, meaning it will not support ProMotion technology. Although its 6.12-inch screen and 60Hz refresh rate remain unchanged from the iPhone 17e, Apple may update its design from a notch to Dynamic Island.

However, amid the current memory chip shortage affecting the industry, it is unsurprising if Apple chooses to minimize changes to the iPhone 18e to avoid raising prices.
