Meta has launched Muse Image, its first AI image creation model from Meta Superintelligence Labs on Meta AI, enabling users to generate high-quality images using natural language. It is now available on Instagram and WhatsApp.
In an era where artificial intelligence (AI) technology is playing an increasingly significant role in daily life, especially among Big Tech companies competing to develop generative AI to meet user needs, Meta, the social media giant, has once again announced a major advance in this arena.
9 July 2026 GMT+7Metaofficially launched "Muse Image," its first AI image creation model from the Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL) team. It is now accessible through Meta AI, emphasizing ease of use and natural interaction, much like everyday conversation.
Muse Image is designed to quickly transform users' ideas into high-quality photos or graphics. Unlike typical image generation models, it integrates advanced reasoning abilities with image creation, enabling the AI to plan and interpret complex commands, draw on relevant context, and intelligently blend multiple reference images seamlessly.
Additionally, the classic issue of AI image generators producing distorted text is resolved, as Muse Image can generate sharp, easy-to-read text within images. This is ideal for creators making materials such as invitation cards, infographics, or even QR codes that can be scanned and used effectively.
To make it more accessible to general users and creators, Meta has included smart features that spark imagination, including:
Initially, Meta deployed Muse Image's capabilities within its popular apps, launching over 30 new AI effects on Instagram Stories and enabling image creation via chat on WhatsApp in select countries.
Looking ahead, Meta plans to extend this model to Facebook, Messenger, and marketing tools like Meta Advantage+ creative within weeks, aiding businesses and agencies in producing advertising content more efficiently and quickly.
Currently, Muse Image is free for general users via Meta AI. Those needing higher volumes for work or business can opt for premium subscriptions. Meta also revealed it is developing "Muse Video," an AI model for video creation, aiming to enhance online communication and expression in the near future.
