The smallest foldable phone in the series has been unveiled: the Galaxy Z Flip8 features a 4.1-inch FlexWindow display with full AI support, a 50-megapixel camera, a 4,300mAh battery, and measures just 6.1 mm thin when unfolded.
At the Galaxy Unpacked July 2026 event, the final mobile product revealed was the Galaxy Z Flip8. It comes with a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with FHD+ resolution (1,080 x 2,520 pixels), 400 ppi, and an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz. The external FlexWindow screen is a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED panel with 948 x 1,048 pixels resolution, 342 ppi, and supports 60/120Hz refresh rates, featuring Vision Booster on both screens.
The Galaxy Z Flip8 measures 75.4 x 85.7 x 13.1 mm when folded and 75.4 x 166.9 x 6.1 mm when unfolded. It weighs 180 grams and has IP48 water and dust resistance.
Samsung has redesigned the FlexWindow interface to be AI-driven, allowing applications, insights, and commands to appear directly on the external screen. It supports the Now Brief feature on the FlexWindow home screen, which notifies users of important information and next steps. Users can also access automation through Gemini Intelligence from the outer display by pressing the side button or using voice commands. Initially, this automation feature is available only in the United States and South Korea, supporting American English and Korean, with plans to expand within the year.
The Galaxy Z Flip8’s camera setup includes a dual rear camera system: a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization (OIS), and 2x optical zoom, plus a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 123-degree field of view. The front camera is 10MP with an f/2.2 aperture, working alongside the ProVisual Engine.
Samsung highlights the FlexCam feature, which enables hands-free shooting via Flex Mode, with a camcorder grip design and a Zoom Rocker button. It includes Super Steady stabilization with Horizontal Lock to keep the horizon level, and FlipShot, allowing users to customize the FlexWindow for mirror selfies. There’s also a Mirror View mode that turns the external screen into a mirror.
Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8, the Flip8 uses Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 chipset. Memory and storage options include 12GB RAM with either 256GB or 512GB storage. The battery is a dual-cell 4,300mAh unit, capable of wired charging up to 55% in 30 minutes with a separately sold 25W adapter, and supports 15W fast wireless charging plus Wireless PowerShare. It runs on Android 17 with One UI 9, supporting 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth v5.4.
The Galaxy Z Flip8 also incorporates the same AI capabilities as the rest of the lineup, including Now Nudge, which converts conversation data into immediate actions, and Samsung Knox security protecting at the chipset level with mechanisms like Personal Data Engine and Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP). Additionally, the AI Assistant Activity dashboard in One UI 9.0 consolidates all AI automation functions in one place.
In Thailand, prices start at 42,900 baht for the 12/256GB model and 50,900 baht for the 12/512GB model. It is available in three colors: pink, graphite black, and cream white, with a special mint green color exclusive to the online store samsung.com. Sales begin on 14 August 2026.
