Samsung is preparing to continue its triple-fold smartphone project, expected to launch next year with a size similar to the previous Galaxy Z TriFold model.
A report from South Korea's ETNews states that Samsung has started sharing information about the new Galaxy Z TriFold project with parts suppliers. According to sources, the screen size is likely close to the first model, featuring a main inner screen of 9.96 inches with a 4:3 aspect ratio and an outer screen of 6.49 inches, comparable to a standard tablet size, enabling full use of screen space for entertainment and multitasking.
The expected launch timeline is the second half of 2027, alongside foldable phones like the Galaxy Z Fold9, Z Fold9 Ultra, and Z Flip 9.
Beyond the foldable lineup, the report also mentions a strategy called "4+4". This means that in the first half of 2027, Samsung will launch four Galaxy smartphone models. Previously, Samsung usually released only three Galaxy S series models in the first quarter, but this time it may increase to four, including a new model called the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro.
The report does not detail how the Pro model will differ from others. Since the Galaxy S Ultra has been Samsung's top model for years, it will be interesting to see how the Pro positions itself.
This development follows Samsung's recentlaunch of the Galaxy Z Fold8.,Galaxy Z Fold8 UltraandGalaxy Z Flip8.The majority of attention has focused on the Z Fold8 model, which features a design different from previous versions.
Interestingly, reports suggest that Apple's iPhone Ultra design resembles that of the Galaxy Z Fold8.
The first Galaxy Z TriFold was released in the U.S. on 30 January 2026 GMT+7, priced at $2,899 (around 98,000 baht), with limited production. Samsung positioned this model mainly to showcase technological capabilities rather than for mass market sales. The second model is reported to potentially expand production to reach a broader consumer base.
