The specifications of the standard iPhone 18, expected to launch early next year, will include a newly designed Dynamic Island and an increase in RAM to 12GB.
Jeff Pu, a supply chain analyst, revealed a new report in which he believes the standard iPhone 18 will raise its RAM from 8GB to 12GB and will feature a redesigned Dynamic Island similar to that of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, set to launch this September.
The iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 are expected to launch in early 2027 rather than the usual September timeframe, due to the upcoming Apple Event next month featuring numerous product launches, including the iPhone Ultra.
The increase in RAM from 8GB to 12GB on the iPhone 18 is understandable, as higher RAM is crucial for on-device AI processing, especially since Apple is placing greater emphasis on Apple Intelligence features and an improved version of Siri.
