Rumors about the Galaxy S27 Ultra, launching next year, indicate the device size will be similar to the previous model, but the rear design resembles the iPhone 17 Pro.
Ice Universe, a well-known smartphone insider on platform X, revealed that Samsung's next flagship, the Galaxy S27 Ultra, set for release next year, will have a size not much different from the current Galaxy S26 Ultra. The biggest difference lies in the rear design, which resembles the iPhone 17 Pro.
According to Ice Universe's render images, the back will feature a camera module protruding from the surface, with two lenses in separate compartments and another lens in a capsule-shaped area alongside the flash. This capsule may house a 5x telephoto camera, unlike the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which arranged lenses vertically in separate slots.
Beyond the rear design, Ice Universe notes that the S Pen slot will remain at the bottom left corner of the device, as will the speaker, continuing the layout Samsung has used for its Ultra models since the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra era.
In contrast, other models in the same series—Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, and Galaxy S27 Pro—are reported to move the speaker from the left corner to the right side of the bottom edge to differentiate them from the Ultra model.
Regarding camera specs, multiple sources have reported that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will reduce its rear cameras from four to three by removing the 3x telephoto lens with 10MP resolution, leaving a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP 5x telephoto lens. If true, this would be the first time since the Galaxy S21 Ultra in 2021 that the Ultra model does not have four rear cameras. South Korea's ET News, citing supply chain sources, says this reduction aims to lower production costs. The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to feature a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide, and a 12MP 3x telephoto lens.
The Privacy Display feature, first introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra and using Samsung Display's Flex Magic Pixel technology to limit side viewing angles and prevent others from seeing screen content, is reported by South Korea's TheElec in July to be included across all four Galaxy S27 models, not just the Ultra and Pro as previously suggested.
The Galaxy S27 Series is expected to launch in early 2027, around the same timeframe as the Galaxy S26 Series launch.
