An August supply chain report consistently stated that so far there is no evidence of a launch delay, but the initial batch will be extremely limited. Major markets like the U.S., China, and other key markets will receive the device first, while secondary markets may have to wait 2-3 months.
Notably, a special report from Australia's ChannelNews, citing a major Chinese parts supplier, indicated that Apple is facing issues with supply, testing, and pricing. Leading network carriers and retailers in Australia confirmed that the iPhone Ultra will not launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro.
The same report states that the production plan for the second half of 2026 is about 7 million units. It also highlights that the main issues delaying full production are related to the folding hinge mechanism and foldable screen, with mass production pushed from June 2026 to early August 2026, then delayed again.
This is significant for Thai consumers because Australia is one of the markets that usually receives new iPhone models in the first wave, just like Thailand, which has been in the early release group for several years.
