Xiaomi showcased the actual Xiaomi 18 Fold foldable phone for the first time at IFA 2026 in Berlin, Germany. It is set to launch in China on 7 September, making Xiaomi the latest brand after Samsung to adopt a wide foldable phone design, with Apple’s iPhone Ultra possibly next.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold’s design stands out because Xiaomi opted for a short, wide form factor similar to Samsung’s, but with softer rounded corners. The left edge remains sharp while the right side is rounded.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold features a 5.38-inch external screen and a 7.58-inch internal screen. Its folding design is well-executed, with the crease barely visible. The external display houses one front camera, and the rear has three cameras.
Xiaomi uses its self-developed XRING O3 chipset for this device.
Other specifications such as battery capacity, price, and plans for sales outside China have not yet been revealed.
