The iPhone Ultra specs ahead of its launch at the Apple Event early on 10 September reveal a 5.5-inch outer screen, resembling Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8, which was unveiled earlier.
Before Apple officially starts the Apple Event,"Surprise and Shine",on 9 September 2026 at 10:00 Pacific Time, equivalent to 00:00 on 10 September Thailand time, many media and users have started using Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8, as current information strongly suggests the device will closely resemble the iPhone Ultra.
The Galaxy Z Fold8, launched in July 2026, features a 5.5-inch outer display with a 10:16 aspect ratio and a 7.6-inch foldable inner screen with a 4:3 ratio. The iPhone Ultra is expected to have the same 5.5-inch outer screen but a slightly larger 7.8-inch inner display, differing by 0.2 inches from the Galaxy Z Fold8.
Dimension-wise, the Galaxy Z Fold8 measures 81.9 x 123.9 x 9.7 mm when folded and thins to 4.5 mm when unfolded, weighing 201 grams. These figures closely match reports that Apple aims for the iPhone Ultra to be about 4.5 mm thin when unfolded. To achieve this, Apple reportedly plans to remove Face ID from the inner screen and revert to Touch ID on the side button to keep the device slim.
Apple has not confirmed the model name, specs, or any details, including the 'iPhone Ultra' name, with all information so far coming from rumors and supply chain sources only.
In addition to the iPhone Ultra, the Apple Event"Surprise and Shine"will also unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, while the standard iPhone 18 launch has been postponed to early 2027. This event will mark John Ternus's first product keynote as Apple’s CEO, succeeding Tim Cook on 1 September.
