Apple is preparing to launch its first foldable iPhone at an Apple Event."Surprise and shine."At Apple Park in Cupertino, California, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on 9 September 2026, which corresponds to midnight on 10 September 2026 Thailand time, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reported just hours before the event that Apple has officially named its foldable phone iPhone Duo, not iPhone Ultra as previously rumored. The starting price is about $2,000, which, based on Apple's retail prices in Thailand, is around 80,000 baht, with an official launch planned for October 2026.
Gurman also stated that the iPhone Duo will offer up to 2TB of storage, pushing the price up to around $3,000, approximately 120,000 to 122,000 baht. Prices for mid-range storage options have not yet been reported.
The name iPhone Duo aligns with the device’s main feature: it is the first iPhone with two screens—an outer screen and an inner foldable screen. Previously, Gurman reported that Apple insiders referred to this device as the iPhone Ultra.
The iPhone Duo will come in two colors: white and dark blue. It is scheduled for release in October 2026, about one to two weeks later than the iPhone 18 Pro.
It is still unclear whether Thailand will be included in the initial release.
Another change from earlier expectations is that the iPhone Duo will support Apple Pencil. Previously, support was said to be under consideration. If confirmed, this would mark the first time Apple Pencil extends support from iPads to an iPhone.
