Apple continues its success in the wireless earphones category by unveiling the AirPods 5 during the Apple Event in the early hours of 10 September 2026, midnight Thailand time.Officially announced.
This return marks a major disruption in the open-ear headphone market as Apple has successfully integrated top-class Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) into this open-ear, non-in-ear design, meeting the needs of users who want quietness without the discomfort of in-ear buds, at a more accessible price.
The key upgrade lies in a completely new multi-port acoustic architecture inspired by the AirPods Pro 3, combined with a next-generation adaptive EQ and advanced computational processing, resulting in noise cancellation that is 50% better than that of AirPods 4.
It also features Adaptive Audio, which seamlessly blends ambient sound mode with ANC based on real-world environments, and Conversation Awareness, which automatically lowers volume when you begin talking to others nearby.
Apple also enhanced durability with an IP57 rating against dust, sweat, and water, and redesigned the battery to deliver up to 5 hours of playback per charge with ANC active, extending to 22 hours total when used with the charging case.
For those seeking a premium experience, the AirPods 5 wireless charging case model adds a pressure sensor on the earbud stem that allows volume control via finger swipes immediately.
This is the first time this function is available in open-ear style earbuds. The wireless charging case supports charging via Apple Watch chargers, standard Qi chargers, and USB-C ports.
Apple announced the AirPods 5 pricing attractively, with the standard model priced at 4,790 baht and the wireless charging case version at 5,490 baht.
Customers in Thailand and over 65 other countries will be able to pre-order soon, with official in-store availability starting Friday, 18 September 2026 GMT+7.
