The new MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chip, powering the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max, reduces power consumption by 61 percent. This model will launch globally in October.
OPPO revealed that the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max, its new flagship smartphone, will debut in China before being released worldwide, making it one of the smartphonesto be among the first to use MediaTek's Dimensity 9600 Pro chip.The Dimensity 9600 Pro is built on TSMC's 2-nanometer architecture, which was just unveiled on 15 September.
The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max will launch in China on 22 September, followed by a separate global launch event expected in October.
MediaTek states that the Dimensity 9600 Pro delivers 17 percent higher single-core CPU performance and 15 percent better multi-core performance compared to the previous Dimensity 9500. Multi-core operation uses 61 percent less power at the same peak performance. The GPU is up to 27 percent faster while consuming 24 percent less power at peak performance.
The new chip's CPU includes two Arm C2-Ultra cores running up to 4.55GHz, compared to the Dimensity 9500's single Ultra core; the remaining six cores are C2-Pro.
For AI, the chip uses two NPUs working together. MediaTek claims it processes large language models 51 percent faster in initial stages and can run AI models with up to 30 billion parameters on-device. It is also the first mobile chip to support LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage.
Additionally, OPPO developed the Laminar Flow Engine technology in collaboration with MediaTek, debuting in the Find X10 Pro Max. This technology restructures the rendering system and coordinates resource management to improve responsiveness while reducing power consumption.
The Find X10 Pro Max features a 200-megapixel rear camera developed with Hasselblad. The main camera has an f/1.5 aperture and a dynamic range up to 17EV. The ultra-wide camera offers a 124-degree field of view with an f/2.2 aperture, while the periscope telephoto camera has an f/2.1 aperture, CIPA 7.5-level stabilization, and macro capability at 10 centimeters. The device is powered by an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery.
The Find X10 lineup is expected to include three models: OPPO Find X10 Pro Max, OPPO Find X10, and OPPO Find X10 E. It is not yet clear which models will be available in international markets.
