Samsung is preparing to gradually release the One UI 9 interface update early next week, starting first with the Galaxy S26. The new features focus mainly on Galaxy AI.
Samsung Electronics has officially announced the One UI 9 software update for smartphones and other devices in the Galaxy family, set to start rolling out on 21 September for users in Thailand.
The first group of smartphones to get the update are the flagship models,the Galaxy S26 Series.Next in line are the Galaxy S25 Series and Galaxy Z7 Series, scheduled for 28 September, with the update reaching the Galaxy S23 FE by October 2026.
One UI 9 was initially launched alongside the latest foldable smartphones: Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8.
The key focus of this update is to make devices run more smoothly and to make Galaxy AI more personal and practically useful.
A highlight of One UI 9 is My FanCam, which tracks a user-selected person in video footage and automatically keeps them centered in the frame, adjusting the angle as they move. This is ideal for capturing performances by children, friends dancing, or sports events.
Additionally, Now Brief provides a daily summary screen with new Generative and Editable Cards, allowing users to choose whether to display health data, weather, or videos. The new Now Nudge feature offers real-time contextual suggestions—for example, when typing a message, it can instantly pull up booking details or location notes mentioned in the conversation.
There is also the Interpreter feature for translation, including a faster Conversation Mode that plays translated audio through Galaxy Buds with reduced delay. Document Scan helps convert difficult scanned documents, like curved book pages or folded papers, into clear digital files with minimal manual correction.And the Voice Recordersummarizes audio recordings into headings and tables.
On security, Samsung has added Security Brief, which alerts users on Now Brief about critical issues like malware, unknown-source apps, or apps requesting excessive permissions. Enhanced Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to detect apps attempting unnecessary background permission access.
Samsung is also expanding Scam Detection, which helps block fraudulent calls, to more countries and languages. However, there is no confirmed date for when this feature will be available in Thailand.
