Samsung is preparing to gradually release the One UI 9 interface update early next week, starting with the Galaxy S26. The new features focus primarily on Galaxy AI.
Samsung Electronics has officially announced the One UI 9 software update for Galaxy smartphones and other devices, beginning to roll out on 21 September for users in Thailand.
The first group to receive the update will be the flagship Galaxy S26 Series, followed by the Galaxy S25 Series and Galaxy Z7 Series on 28 September, with the update reaching the Galaxy S23 FE by October 2026.
One UI 9 was initially launched alongside the latest foldable smartphones: Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8.
The main focus of this update is to improve device fluidity and make Galaxy AI more personal and practical.
A standout feature of One UI 9 is My FanCam, which tracks a user-selected person in video footage and automatically keeps them centered in the frame, adjusting the angle according to their movement. This is ideal for filming a child's performance, a friend's dance, or sports events.
Additionally, Now Brief serves as a daily information summary screen, enhanced with Generative and Editable Cards allowing users to choose to display health data, weather, or videos. The new Now Nudge feature offers real-time contextual suggestions; for example, while typing a message, the system can instantly pull up booking details or location notes mentioned in the conversation.
There is also an Interpreter tool for translation, featuring a Conversation Mode that speeds up translation and plays audio through Galaxy Buds with reduced delay. Document Scan helps convert difficult-to-scan materials, like curved book pages or folded papers, into sharp digital files with minimal manual correction.And Voice Recorderwhich summarizes audio recordings into headings and tables.
On security, Samsung has added Security Brief, which alerts users to critical issues on Now Brief such as malware detection, apps from unknown sources, or apps requesting excessive permissions. Enhanced Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to detect apps attempting to access permissions unnecessarily in the background.
Samsung is also expanding Scam Detection, which helps prevent fraudulent calls, to more countries and languages. However, there is no confirmed date yet for when this feature will be available in Thailand.
