The iPhone Duo is generating strong buzz as Apple has decided to increase orders by another 30 percent ahead of the pre-order launch this Friday.
Apple has raised production orders for the iPhone Duo, its first foldable smartphone, with supply chain partners by 30 percent before the initial pre-order launch on Friday, 16 October. This reflects Apple's assessment that demand for the iPhone Duo is much higher than initially estimated.
A report from the Securities Times newspaper states that iPhone Duo production for the remainder of 2026 is unlikely to exceed 10 million units.
Another indicator of the positive reception for the iPhone Duo is that some Apple Store locations have significantly expanded their hands-on demo areas.
In addition to the iPhone Duo, sources in the supply chain told Securities Times that Apple has adjusted production orders for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Orders for the iPhone 18 Pro Max have increased by 10-15 percent, while orders for the iPhone 18 Pro have been reduced by 10-15 percent. However, the overall production target for the entire lineup remains unchanged.
