Bloomberg reports that Apple is likely to launch new products again late this month, focusing on new Mac and iPad mini models.
Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg reporter, revealed that besides today’s Apple home device launches, there is a chance to see new Mac and iPad mini products featuring OLED screens for the first time late this month.
The noteworthy point about the iPad mini is that it represents a major product upgrade in the iPad mini line but will come with a higher price, while the standard iPad mini with an LCD screen will continue to be available, possibly launching next year.
The latest iPad mini launched in 2024 upgraded performance from the 2021 model by switching the chip from A15 to A17 Pro and doubling the RAM from 4GB to 8GB, enabling use of AI features like Apple Intelligence, but otherwise saw little change.
As for the standard iPad, leaked code indicates the new model will use the Apple A19 chip with 8GB of RAM, sufficient for Apple Intelligence, Siri AI, and other AI features that require minimum chip and RAM specs. Apple’s N1 network chip will support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, and Thread, the connectivity standard for smart home devices.
Additionally, there will be a model supporting 5G on frequencies below 6GHz via the C1X modem, but if Gurman’s report is accurate, this iPad will have to wait until next year.
The current standard iPad on sale is the iPad (2025), which features a new chip and increased RAM from 4GB to 6GB, though this is still insufficient for Apple Intelligence. Its IPS LCD screen was expanded from 10.9 inches to 11.0 inches.
The latest iPad Pro launched in 2025, so a new model is expected next year. Other products anticipated in 2027 include the MacBook Air, MacBook Neo, and iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. The iPad Air may also receive an update.
