Google is preparing to downgrade access to the Gemini Pro model for customers subscribed to Google AI Plus, leaving only the Flash and Flash-Lite models available.
Google has begun sending emails worldwide to Google AI Plus subscribers informing them that, as of 13 November, they will no longer be able to use the Pro-level models on the Google Gemini app and Google AI Mode within Google Search.
The email states that Google AI Plus users will only be able to use the Flash and Flash-Lite models.
At the same time, Google has also reduced access to AI models for free-tier users, who can now only use the Flash-Lite model, effective from 9 October.
Subscribers to the Google AI Pro package will not face any reductions in access; instead, they gain access to the Deep Think feature, which was previously limited to AI Ultra members paying a starting monthly fee of 3,500 baht.
This adjustment to AI model access for Google AI Plan subscribers coincides with Google's launch of the new Gemini 4 Argon model, a powerful new addition to Google Gemini. In Thailand, users must pay a monthly subscription fee of 750 baht plus 5TB of cloud storage to access this model.
Previously, Google AI Plus was a cost-effective package for AI users, offering 400GB of storage. However, the removal of the Pro model from this package may prompt users to consider upgrading to Google AI Pro or opting for the standard package, which includes 200GB of cloud storage only.
