Rockstar has opened pre-loading for GTA VI earlier on November 10, requiring players to prepare as much as 212GB of storage on PS5 and Xbox.
Rockstar Games announced on its official blog on 3 November 2026 that players who pre-ordered the digital version of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S can start pre-loading the game from November 10, 2026, ahead of the full release on November 19. This gives a 9-day pre-load window, moved up from the original November 12 date, with a file size of 212GB.
On the PlayStation 5 platform, pre-loading will begin at midnight local time in each player's country, which corresponds to 00:00 on Tuesday, November 10, Thailand time. For Xbox Series X|S, pre-loading will start simultaneously worldwide at 00:00 GMT on the same day, or 07:00 Thailand time.
For the boxed code version, which contains only a download code without a physical disc, Rockstar stated it will be available in stores from November 12. Buyers of this version will thus start downloading two days later than digital purchasers.
Notably, the 212GB figure is Rockstar's first official confirmation of the file size. Therefore, gamers need to ensure their devices have enough free space to begin pre-loading as soon as possible.
Additionally, Rockstar will offer free downloadable digital poster cover art and a map of the state of Leonida on the official website starting November 19. A two-sided printed poster will be sold through the Rockstar Store after launch for $0.99, or given free with any purchase from the store.
