
Nakhon Ratchasima province has entered the winter season, with many tourists and locals eagerly traveling to Khao Yai Thieng in Khlong Phai Subdistrict, Sikhio District, to experience the fresh air and admire the beautiful natural scenery.
Khao Yai Thieng is considereda popular check-in spot.It is located on the upper reservoir of the Lam Takhong Chonlaphawatana dam of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), serving as an important landmark open for visits year-round. The current highlights attracting tourists include
the giant wind turbine field, which continues to amaze visitors with the grandeur of 14 towering turbines lined along the ridge, gracefully catching the wind. The panoramic view includes the scenic Lam Takhong reservoir, as well as the winding routes of the Mittraphap Road and the M6 Motorway.
Most tourists come to Khao Yai Thieng to engage in various activities, especially during the first cold spell of the year, such as waiting to watch the sunrise and sunset to capture the impressive golden light in the morning and evening.
It is also a convenient exercise spot, offering bicycle rentals at 40 baht per bike, allowing visitors to cycle for fitness while enjoying the surrounding reservoir scenery.
