Anyone planning to return home or travel during New Year 2026, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is fully prepared with measures to facilitate convenience and safety, increasing 18 special passenger trains. These serve the Northern, Northeastern (Isan), and Southern routes to ensure everyone can safely travel back to their families.

Mark your calendar: booking for special train tickets begins Tuesday, 26 November 2025, with trips available for outbound and return journeys on these special trains.

Outbound and return travel dates for New Year 2026 special trains

Northern line routes: Bangkok - Chiang Mai / Sila At

• Outbound trips: 26, 28, 30 Dec 2025 and 1, 3, 4 Jan 2026
• Return trips: 27, 29, 31 Dec 2025 and 2, 4 Jan 2026

Northeastern line routes: Bangkok - Ubon Ratchathani / Udon Thani / Nakhon Ratchasima

• Outbound trips: 30, 31 Dec 2025 and 1, 3, 4 Jan 2026
• Return trips: 30, 31 Dec 2025 and 1, 3, 4 Jan 2026

Southern line route: Bangkok - Yala

• Outbound trips: 26, 28, 30 Dec 2025 and 1, 3 Jan 2026
• Return trips: 27, 29, 31 Dec 2025 and 2, 4 Jan 2026
