Butterbear Invades Japan: Details of Fuji-Q Highland x Butterbear Event Starting 10 January 2026

After much speculation that excited fans for some time, Fuji-Q Highland amusement park in Japan has officially confirmed that "Butterbear," or "Nong Mee Noey," the beloved Thai idol bear, is set to make an international debut there. This world-class amusement park

The event will transform part of the park into a bright and charming land under the project name "Butterbear in Fuji-Q Highland," marking a significant milestone for this Thai character appearing at a major Japanese landmark.

The collaboration will run for a full six months, from Saturday, 10 January 2026 to Friday, 10 July 2026. The park is not just decorating with character images but also renovating rides and creating new activity zones specifically to welcome Butterbear.

A major highlight is the makeover of the classic Tea Cup ride into the "Par-tea Cup," themed as a lively party. This ride has been revamped with a giant LED screen at its center showing Butterbear's adorable images, combined with full lighting and sound effects, creating an atmosphere where riders feel as if they are dancing along with the bear.

Beyond rides, the park has prepared a must-visit photo spot featuring a giant Butterbear model set against the real backdrop of Mount Fuji, perfectly blending Japan's iconic symbol with the Thai mascot. This spot is expected to become a popular place for tourists to capture memorable photos.

For visitors during the winter season, there will be a special "Butterbear SNOW PARK," a snowy area full of Butterbear-themed decorations, including snow dolls of the character welcoming guests. Visitors can rent snow tubes to slide down the snowy hill, making it especially fun for families. However, this snow zone will be open only until 31 March 2026.

Regarding food and souvenirs, Fuji-Q Highland has prepared limited edition items exclusive to this event, such as Fujiyama Cookies in special packaging and Zekkyo Yaki snacks printed with Butterbear's face, along with other merchandise designed especially for fans.

This collaboration reflects Butterbear's growing popularity beyond Thailand. Anyone planning to visit Tokyo or the Mount Fuji area in the first half of 2026 can stop by Fuji-Q Highland in Yamanashi Prefecture to experience the charm and support Butterbear. The park is accessible by bus from Shinjuku, and visitors can enter the event by purchasing the park's admission ticket.

This partnership marks an important step for a Thai character to appear at a landmark in Japan. If you plan to travel to Tokyo and Fuji during the first half of 2026, don't forget to stop by and cheer on Nong Mee Noey.
