If you think "design" is just about aesthetics or home decoration, Bangkok in early 2026 will make you rethink that.
Get ready for the return of Southeast Asia’s largest design festival, "Bangkok Design Week 2026" (BKKDW2026), now entering its ninth year with a bold new direction. The Creative Economy Agency (CEA), in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and citywide partners, is transforming design into a "tool" to tackle the city’s toughest problems.
In a world full of uncertainties, this year’s main theme, "DESIGN S/O/S," is not a desperate call for help but a declaration of a "signal for survival."
BKKDW2026 invites everyone to ask, "What can design do?" and emphasizes "immediate action" to drive the economy, society, and environment forward through three secret codes to survival:
Over 11 full days, the festival will turn spaces throughout Bangkok into creative laboratories, featuring over 350 programs including exhibitions, talks, and workshops.
Key highlights will be spread across four distinctive districts: Charoen Krung–Talat Noi, Phra Nakhon, Pak Khlong Talat, and Bang Lamphu–Khao San, along with other areas throughout the city.
Bangkok Design Week is more than a one-off event; it is a tangible economic driver that benefits community shops, hotels, restaurants, and attracts quality investors and tourists, reinforcing Bangkok’s status as a UNESCO "Bangkok City of Design."
Join in witnessing the power of creativity that turns "crisis" into "opportunity" and helps make Bangkok a better place to live at Bangkok Design Week 2026 (BKKDW2026), from 29 January to 8 February 2026, across Charoen Krung–Talat Noi, Phra Nakhon, Pak Khlong Talat, Bang Lamphu–Khao San, and locations throughout Bangkok.
