When the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) released its latest advertisement as part of the major “Feel all the Feelings” campaign on the Amazing Thailand fan page, the highlight was featuring Lisa Manoban, a global artist and Amazing Thailand Ambassador, to showcase Thailand’s stunning beauty.
This time, Lisa’s cover image appears amidst the lush, refreshing atmosphere of Huay Mae Khamin Waterfall in Kanchanaburi. This not only reignited enthusiasm for Thai tourism but also inspired many to "open the way" and witness this forest paradise themselves.
Huay Mae Khamin Waterfall, located in Si Sawat District, Kanchanaburi, is known as one of Thailand’s most beautiful waterfalls. Its distinctive limestone formations create clear water with a jade green-blue hue, contrasting vividly with the surrounding forest greenery, evoking a sense of entering a mythical forest.
The wonder here is the water cascading down through seven tiers, each with its own unique beauty and melodious name.
For waterfall viewing, the distance from tier 1 to 4 is just 300–750 meters, an easy and relaxing walk. For adventurous visitors aiming to reach the top tiers, from tier 5 upward extends over 1 kilometer. The park is open from 06:30 to 17:00.
Moreover, if you make it to Huay Mae Khamin, don’t let your trip end there. Kanchanaburi offers nearby unseen scenic spots to add to your travel experience.
1. Phrathat Cave (35 km away) On the way from the waterfall, you’ll drive through a verdant “tree tunnel” and enjoy high views of Srinakarin Dam before reaching a large cave in Erawan National Park. The cave is filled with uniquely shaped stalactites and stalagmites sparkling like diamonds when lit.
2. Erawan Waterfall (10 km from the cave) A little further, you’ll find the world-famous Erawan Waterfall. Its beauty differs from Huay Mae Khamin and is another landmark that international tourists must visit.
3. Srinakarin Dam End your trip by watching the sunset at the Srinakarin Dam crest, a vast viewpoint with an open, refreshing atmosphere ideal for relaxation. You can also enjoy floating on a bamboo raft to feel the cool water.
The beauty of Huay Mae Khamin Waterfall and Kanchanaburi Province is truly genuine. Visitors are invited to find free time over the weekend to come and witness it themselves.
