Phra That Renu was built around 1917–1920 CE, modeled after the full-sized Phra That Phanom. The Fine Arts Department restored it in 1950 CE, although it is smaller in size. Inside are enshrined the Tripitaka scriptures, golden Buddha statues, silver Buddha statues, royal regalia of local rulers, and valuable items donated by devotees. In 2016 CE, the relics of the Buddha were also enshrined here. Inside the ordination hall is Phra Ong Saen, the guardian Buddha of Renu Nakhon, a beautifully crafted Lao-style seated Buddha. The temple grounds include a cultural plaza for the Thai people of Renu Nakhon, the Muang Wei Theater, welcoming visitors and tourists. There are also OTOP product shops and local fabrics that visitors should not miss.
