Tourism Authority of Thailand Invites Travelers to Exclusive Songkran Rattanakosin 2026 Walk in Old Bangkok

Breaking away from traditional Songkran travel, the Tourism Authority of Thailand invites you to an exclusive soul-healing trip "Songkran Rattanakosin 2026," for a leisurely walk through historic Old Bangkok.

This Songkran, who says you have to get soaked in crowds? Escape the chaos and experience a new dimension of Songkran tourism that lets you enjoy peace and tranquility in the heart of Bangkok.

TAT's Walking Bangkok activity in the "Songkran Rattanakosin 2026" trip invites chill and art lovers to stroll, pour water on Buddha images for good luck, and delve deeply into history and Buddhist art with exclusive insights from expert guides.

The Songkran Rattanakosin trip offers two auspicious destinations that travelers must not miss.

  • Route 1: Water blessing at royal temples of the Chakri Dynasty (Saturday, 11 April 2026).

This trip invites travelers to follow the faith of three Chakri kings, visiting beautiful royal temples starting at Wat Pho, venerating the Phra Buddha Lokanat and the Bodhi tree, embracing the wish for "peace and happiness."

Then admire the masterpiece of Japanese mother-of-pearl inlay and the marble pagoda at Wat Ratchapradit, embracing the principle "Dharma Abides." Finally, visit Wat Ratchabophit, marvel at the Benjarong-style temple blending European art wonderfully, and receive the blessing "Eastern kings protect and shelter."

  • Route 2: Water blessing of legendary Buddha images, venerating precious Buddha statues (Sunday, 12 April 2026).

Discover a millennium-old Buddhist art legend and the unique metal castle world wonder at Wat Ratchanaddaram, view rare star constellation murals with the motto "Worship beautiful Buddhas, follow the relics." Then see the 52 Bhikkhuni sculptures, unique in Thailand, at Wat Thepthidaram, enhancing the blessing "Pure mind like Dharma."

Next, head to Wat Suthat, pay respects to the goddess of wisdom "Phra Suntareewani" and Luang Pho Glak Fin, then enjoy the special highlight of pouring water on the sacred "Phra Si Hing" Buddha image (from Wang Na) at the City Hall plaza.
