This over 100-year-old palace, built in 1901 CE, is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful palaces in Thailand, showcasing exquisite Baroque and Rococo architectural styles.

Today, the Bank of Thailand Learning Center has opened its space to invite you to revisit memories and appreciate the exquisite royal lifestyle through a special exhibition that museum enthusiasts and photography lovers should not miss!

Highlights not to miss at the "Charm of Bang Khun Phrom Palace" exhibition

This exhibition offers an experience blending art and science that reflects the unique style and taste of the Bang Khun Phrom Palace royals. It focuses on art that harmoniously fuses Thai and Western elements. The event features many interesting displays and activities, including:

  • View signature food models: Exhibiting 11 sets of Bang Khun Phrom Palace dishes, along with dining tableware bearing the royal emblem of Prince Bhiphat.
  • Learn about cultural lifestyle: Explore stories of food, music, and art that showcase the meticulous refinement of the palace residents in the past.
  • Hands-on activities: Enjoy knitting workshops and unique stamp-making activities featuring designs from Bang Khun Phrom Palace.
  • Special for opening ceremony attendees: On 7 May at 10:00 AM, visitors can taste "Bungat," a traditional dessert featured in Bang Khun Phrom Palace culinary records.

Additional notes for visiting the actual Bang Khun Phrom Palace: The palace interior is open only on Saturdays and Sundays with advance online reservations required. Service availability may vary due to occasional renovation. However, the exhibition at the Learning Center remains open as usual.

How to get to the Bank of Thailand Learning Center

Access to the Bank of Thailand Learning Center is convenient via several routes:

1. Private car: Use Rama VIII Bridge route heading to Samsen Road, entering through either the Bank of Thailand gate or the south gate under Rama VIII Bridge (Gate 2). The Learning Center offers an on-site parking garage.

2. BTS Skytrain:

  • Get off at Ratchathewi Station (Exit 3) and take bus number 99.
  • Or get off at Saphan Taksin Station (Exit 2), take the Chao Phraya Express Boat at Sathorn Pier, disembark at Rama VIII Pier, then walk along Wisutkasat Road.

3. Riverboats:

  • Take the Chao Phraya Express Boat (orange, green, or yellow flag) or ferry to Tha Thewes Pier.
  • Take the regular river bus (no flag) to Wat Sam Phraya Pier.

4. Bus: Several bus lines serve the area, including routes 3, 9, 30, 32, 33, 43, 49, 53, 64, 65, and 524. You can disembark at the stops in front of the Bank of Thailand or at Wat Sam Phraya stop.
