The Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, is advancing the use of creative power as a driving mechanism for the country by organizing nationwide festivals throughout July to December 2026.
These festivals are regarded as“Festival as a City Platform.”They serve as key tools to build identity, stimulate the economy, and connect local communities through art, music, film, and design, transforming cities into vibrant spaces and progressing sustainably toward becoming a Creative Nation. CEA has categorized the events into three notable levels as follows.
Elevating creativity to the international stage, the grandeur begins with two international festivals. First is the Isan Creative Festival 2026, which invites everyone to experience the cultural heritage of 20 northeastern provinces under the concept “NORTHEAST MODERN: Fully Equipped | Adapted | Joyful Companions.” It showcases adaptability to the modern world through exhibitions, music, and workshops in Khon Kaen province from 11 to 19 July 2026.
Next is Chiang Mai Design Week 2026, themed “Local Thunders Global Transformation,” featuring design, crafts, food, and pavilions from around the world to elevate local potential to an international level, held in Chiang Mai province from 5 to 13 December 2026.
Head south to explore the potential of neighborhoods and cities with Creative Nakhon Festival 7/2026 in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, themed intriguingly as “SACRED SECRET,” using art as a force for restoration and revitalizing people to move forward from 2 to 6 July 2026.
Don’t miss Pattani Decoded 2026, which invites reflection on Pattani city through design and faith, under the concept “RIVER-SATION: Conversations Through the River,” viewing the river as a life archive symbolizing adaptation toward the future, from 11 to 19 July 2026.
Starting in the East with microWAVE FILM FEASTival 2026 in Chanthaburi province, transforming the city into a storytelling space through waves of film, food, fashion, and photography to build a network of new filmmakers and expand film’s role in the creative economy from 25 to 30 August 2026.
In addition, CEA is launching FESTIVAL CREATOR 2026, aiming to develop new festival drivers and organizing six pilot festivals to create new signature activities nationwide, including:
This full-scale initiative reflects that“Creative Festivals”are more than just cultural events; they are powerful tools for urban development, creating economic opportunities, and providing young people a platform to showcase their potential, serving as key drivers for Thailand’s sustainable growth.
