Time Out magazine has ranked Bangkok as the No. 1 city for the best nightlife in the world for 2026, surpassing Berlin and New York. The city is notable for its rooftop bars, street food, and complete nighttime vibrancy.
Global lifestyle magazine Time Out has revealed the latest ranking results. "The world's best cities for nightlife in 2026" The results show that Bangkok jumped from 13th place in 2025 to claim the No. 1 title, beating well-known party cities like Berlin, New York, Melbourne, and São Paulo.
This ranking is based on a survey of over 24,000 locals combined with assessments from Time Out's global network of nightlife lifestyle experts. It found that 73% of Bangkok residents rated the city's nightlife as "good" to "excellent," while expert judges gave the city an attractiveness score as high as 95%.
Time Out reports that Bangkok's appeal to both tourists and locals lies in its diverse entertainment options catering to all groups. These include music-focused clubs like DUAL and Bar Temp, as well as new rooftop bars offering 360-degree city views such as ÆTHER on the 44th floor of Dusit Central Park and Sato San, a Japanese-style bar on the 32nd floor of Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong.
Additionally, the blend of street food culture and alleyway hangouts is a major strength, especially in areas like Soi Nana and Yaowarat with famous bars like G.O.D, Tep Bar, and Ba Hao, as well as luxurious cabaret clubs like Sing Sing Theater. Silom offers LGBTQ+ friendly spaces, alongside late-night eateries serving hot basil stir-fry for night owls at 2 a.m. All these elements combine to keep Bangkok vibrant and awake through the night.
