The program“Thai Teaw Thai Plus”is back with food and accommodation discount coupons. However, this year the government has tightened oversight measures. Violating even one condition may lead to unexpected suspension or cancellation of your account.
Studying the rules and preparing in advance is crucial to ensure your use of benefits is correct and your trip goes smoothly without issues.
For those who register under the conditions, the program offers support to stimulate the domestic tourism economy, divided into two main benefits:
The government subsidizes 40% of the actual room price, with a maximum of 1,500 baht per night (limited number of nights per entitlement as specified by the program).
Support funds for food expenses, entrance fees to tourist attractions, or participating merchants, up to 2,000 baht throughout the program period. The money is credited daily via the Paotang application after checking into the accommodation.
Exchanging rights for cash, booking on behalf of others, or scanning coupons without actually staying are serious violations under the current verification measures.
The backend system of the Paotang app links GPS data and transaction behaviors with AI. If anomalies are detected—such as payment scans far from the user’s real location or circular money transfers between users and businesses—the rights will be immediately suspended.
Moreover, such actions risk criminal prosecution and being retroactively blacklisted, resulting in permanent disqualification from future government support programs.
Many plan vacations to use the benefits during the year-end holiday season, but the program sets a Blackout Period from 15 Dec 2026 to 15 Jan 2027.
This period is designed to spread tourism into off-peak seasons and reduce overcrowding at attractions. Travel dates within this period cannot access discounts or use E-Coupons from the program.
Therefore, checking travel dates carefully before confirming accommodation bookings is a crucial step to avoid losing your rights unnecessarily.
Walking in to use benefits at hotel counters without prior system booking is not allowed. Identity verification and payment of the remaining 60% must be completed via the Paotang app within the specified time before the stay.
Additionally, new applicants who have not completed identity verification (KYC), such as failed facial scans or outdated ID card information, will not receive E-Vouchers, losing their eligibility for that trip.
Preparation before travel is key to using your benefits properly.“Thai Teaw Thai Plus”Users should update the Paotang app to the latest version, ensure their KYC status is fully verified in advance, and plan travel dates outside the Blackout Period to avoid unintentional loss of benefits.
Before booking, always check the official government list of participating hotels, accommodations, and merchants to ensure every trip is rewarding and worry-free.
