As the rainy season fades and the cool season begins, nothing heals the soul better than escaping the chaos to backpack and camp in the crisp air at "Sri Nan National Park" in Nan Province, a land renowned for its spectacular mountain scenery and sea of mist.
Those longing for fresh air should not miss checking in at the park’s highlight viewpoints, starting with Doi Samer Dao, a popular camping site where you can lie under big stars at night and wake up close to the morning mist.
Next is Pha Chu, a spot to watch the sunrise above the breathtaking sea of mist, infused with a mountain love legend, and Plai Fah viewpoint, offering panoramic natural views. Additionally, within the area are the Na Noi soil pillars and Kaeng Luang rapids, perfect for sightseeing and capturing memorable photos.
Preparing to relax here is convenient and budget-friendly. The park is open annually from 1 June to 31 March, with an entrance fee of only 20 baht for Thai adults and 10 baht for children (foreigners pay 100 baht for adults and 50 baht for children).
Facilities inside are fully prepared, including accommodations, a canteen, shops, a coffee shop, and clean restrooms. Those wanting to immerse themselves in nature can book accommodations and camping grounds in advance via the Department of National Parks website or register on arrival at the visitor center.
Camping fees are very affordable. If you bring your own tent, there is a maintenance fee of 30 baht per person per night. For those who prefer light packing, the park offers bare tents for 2-3 people at 270 baht per night. For extra comfort, sleeping sets can be added starting at 330 baht for one set, 390 baht for two, and 450 baht for three, fully equipped.
To reach Sri Nan National Park, located in Si Sa Ket Subdistrict, Na Noi District, travel is convenient and easy. From Na Noi town, take Highway 1083 for about 18 kilometers. The road is a two-lane paved highway with comfortable two-way traffic. The initial stretch passes through communities before ascending a mountainous route with curves but gentle slopes, suitable for sedans.
