Although heavy rain and flooding in many areas have caused some travelers to give up, the truth is that Thailand still offers many beautiful and distinctive destinations waiting to be explored. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the CHECK • CHOOSE • TRAVEL campaign as a guide for tourists to monitor conditions and plan their trips safely.
Current Situation Bangkok Remains Open for Tourism as Usual (Updated 29 Sep 2026 GMT+7) For those planning to visit Bangkok, rest assured that popular tourist spots remain open. Devotees can still check in at the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun to their heart’s content. Meanwhile, trendsetters and food lovers can stroll through Yaowarat, Talad Noi, Songwat, and as far as Siam and Ratchaprasong as usual—just remember to confirm opening hours in advance.
Regarding rail transit, BTS, MRT, Airport Rail Link, the Red Line train, and both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports are operating smoothly without issues. The only exceptions are some road traffic areas where "extra time and route checks" are advised, especially on parts of Ramkhamhaeng, Srinakarin, Lat Phrao, Nawamin, Seri Thai, Phahonyothin, Vibhavadi Rangsit, Suwinthawong Roads, and in Lat Krabang–Rom Klao districts, where some road flooding may still occur.
