Mark Your Calendar for the World Horticultural Expo 2026 in Udon Thani: Experience the Beauty of Plants and Isan Charm

Prepare for the end of this year, as the Northeast of Thailand will host its first major international event, the "World Horticultural Expo Udon Thani 2026" or "Udon Thani Expo 2026," transforming the Nong Da Wetlands into a paradise for nature lovers.

The event is themed around connecting people, waterways, and plants toward sustainability. It will run throughout the cool season from 1 November 2026 to 14 March 2027, open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for visitors to stroll and take photos.

Spectacular display of over one million plants and 32 international gardens Clear space on your smartphone to capture the rare plants and decorative flowers—more than one million specimens rotating on display. The highlight is the international garden zone featuring 32 gardens from 17 countries worldwide, both outdoors and indoors. Additional attractions include a greenhouse, a desert plant house for cactus enthusiasts, orchid gardens, lotus gardens, provincial plant zones, and a bamboo garden offering a very shady atmosphere.

Experience cutting-edge architecture infused with Isan wisdom This event offers more than just plants; the building designs cleverly reflect Udon Thani’s identity. The information center draws inspiration from Ban Chiang pottery and fish traps, the administration building resembles a traditional "Sai" fish trap, and the royal tribute building adapts beauty from Wat Pa Phu Kon, housing the statue of Phra Sri Ariyamittrai. There’s also a replica of the traditional Isan "twin house" village that lets visitors closely experience classic local lifestyles.

Enjoy vibrant cultural lights and an eco-friendly riverside community market After exploring the gardens, visitors can rest at the riverside community market featuring over 50 local vendors promoting eco-friendly concepts of waste and plastic reduction. Delight in over 200 cultural performances at the Tum Hom plaza throughout the 134-day event. There are also academic exhibitions on carbon credits and royal tribute activities along the route to admire the royal grace.

Those eager to experience world-class gardens and absorb the charm of Isan can purchase entry tickets for only 199 baht starting today at All Ticket counters and website. If you’re planning a trip, don’t forget to pack your bags and create uplifting moments together in Udon Thani.
