Successful Curry Rice Shop Owner Offers Fruit in Fulfillment of Vow to Luang Pho Somwang, Seeks Lucky Numbers

The owner of a curry rice shop fulfilled her vow by offering fruit to Luang Pho Somwang every three months after her business flourished. She did not forget to ask for this period's lucky lottery numbers to try her luck on 16 Dec 2025.

On 13 Dec 2025, reporters reported that yesterday morning at Wat Klang Bang Phra (Luang Pho Somwang), Bang Phra Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, Mrs. Raksiri Sutkratok, 60, residing in Rama 2, Bang Khun Thian, Bangkok, owner of a curry rice shop at Bang Khun Thian Housing, Bangkok, brought fruit to fulfill her vow to Luang Pho Somwang. This sacred Buddha image in the Mara-victory posture, over 30 meters tall, is respected by both Thai people and foreigners, with visitors coming daily to pray and fulfill vows.

Mrs. Raksiri brought 20 bunches of Nam Wa bananas, peeled Somwang fruit weighing 20 kilograms per bag in 5 bags, and 20 pineapples from her vehicle's trunk. She placed them onto a cart and brought them into the wide courtyard of Wat Klang Bang Phra. Officials helped arrange the pineapples, bananas, and Somwang fruit neatly in the area, followed by lighting incense to notify and striking the victory gong three times.

When interviewed, Mrs. Raksiri said she has faith in Luang Pho Somwang and comes to fulfill her vow every three months, continuously for two years. She runs a curry rice shop at Bang Khun Thian Housing, Bangkok. Previously, she prayed to Luang Pho Somwang, promising that if her business prospered with good profits and financial success, she would offer fruit every three months. Indeed, her sales greatly increased, expanding from a small shop to a larger one with growing customers. She achieved success as promised and came to fulfill her vow.

Mrs. Raksiri also said something unusual happens: if she forgets to fulfill her vow, she dreams of Luang Pho Somwang or sometimes dreams of crocodiles floating to her front door asking for food, as a warning. She consulted many market vendors about these crocodile dreams and was told it signifies either good luck or a reminder to fulfill vows. According to the belief of vendors, fulfilling vows leads to prosperity.

She recalled that she had vowed to Luang Pho Somwang to come every three months as promised and has done so for two years. If her business does well, she would offer fruit. This time was special because her workers and fellow vendors asked her to also seek lucky numbers from Luang Pho Somwang on their behalf.

She lit sacred incense sticks to ask for luck on their behalf for her children and grandchildren. She further vowed that if she wins, she will have the kitchen staff prepare 1,000 dishes to offer free meals to the public. Pointing to the incense sticks, she received the number 378 and said she would buy all lottery tickets with this number at the temple stalls. She clasped her hands in prayer, asking to win the prize so she could make a major merit offering.
