"Chaiyachana Boonyachot" , a veteran National Artist, traveled to make merit before his birthday at Wat Sawang Arom and also received "lucky numbers" to take back for his descendants to try their luck on 16 Dec 2025.
On 14 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters reported that at Wat Sawang Arom, Khaektao, Khun Kaeo Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, many devotees and lottery hopefuls came to pay respects to sacred objects and seek lucky numbers according to their beliefs.
Meanwhile, the famous National Artist Chaiyachana Boonyachot, aged 83, a former renowned music teacher, came with his wife to meet Luang Pho Pae to ask for blessings and have Luang Pho Pae inscribe a sacred yantra on the back of his hand for good fortune on his upcoming birthday on 5 Jan 2026, when he will turn 84. Luang Pho Pae inscribed the yantra and also gave a yantra cloth of Luang Pu Sila and a protective talisman from Luang Pho Pae to distribute among relatives.
After the ceremony, he paid respects to the statues of Phra Ngern Phra Thong, lighting incense and candles and offering flower trays before making a wish. He also reached into an egg container to draw a number to bring luck to his relatives and longtime fans, drawing the number 041.
Then, upon learning that Luang Pho Pae had received the deity Guan Yu going to war, he wished to pay respects and brought red garlands and auspicious red threads to hang on the horse Guan Yu rides, as well as tying the thread on the spear Guan Yu holds, while praying for health, luck, and prosperity for his entire family. He then reached into another basket and drew three eggs, getting the number 503.
Chaiyachana Boonyachot, the veteran National Artist, said he came today intending to ask for blessings from Luang Pho Pae, whom he has respected for many decades, and to pay respects to the sacred statues Phra Ngern Phra Thong because on 5 Jan 2026 he will be 84 years old, marking seven cycles of life. He took this opportunity to ask for blessings and also received auspicious items to give to relatives.
Furthermore, since he was there, he asked for luck from Phra Ngern Phra Thong to share with his descendants. He was especially pleased to pay respects to the deity Guan Yu on horseback going to war, a figure worshiped by Chinese benefactors who donated to Luang Pho Pae, whom he venerates. Having admired Guan Yu since reading the Romance of the Three Kingdoms for his loyalty, filial piety, and bravery that always leads to victory in battle, he took the opportunity to seek luck. This visit thus fulfilled both his wishes for blessings and luck. Before leaving, he bought lottery tickets with the numbers 041 and 503 from various vendors to take home.
