Dream Comes True: Ratchaburi Couple from Pho Hak Wins First Prize, Striking It Rich with 12 Million Baht

A couple from Pho Hak, Ratchaburi, struck luck by winning the first prize lottery and received 12 million baht. They are preparing to hold ordination ceremonies for their two sons and one grandchild.

On 16 Dec 2025 GMT+7, following the official lottery draw for 16 December 2025, the first prize was 763895, the front three-digit prizes were 431 and 176, the last three-digit prizes were 014 and 449, and the last two-digit prize was 52. In Ratchaburi province, a fortunate local from Village 7, Pho Hak Subdistrict, Bang Phae District, won two first prize tickets worth 12 million baht. Social media in Ratchaburi expressed congratulations to the lucky winners.

Reporters visited the winners' home and met Mr. Somyot, 60, and Mrs. Choeuang, 50, the fortunate couple. Their children and neighbors had gathered to congratulate them.

Mr. Somyot, the first prize winner, told reporters that these numbers were his favorites, which he had followed for four consecutive draws. He regularly bought lottery tickets with numbers 95 and 60, missing only one draw. For this draw, he asked the vendor to get two tickets with number 95 and ten tickets with number 60. He and his wife work at a factory in Ban Phaeo District. He enjoys trying his luck and buys about 8 to 10 lottery tickets each draw, a habit for 10 years, often winning three- and two-digit prizes.

Mr. Somyot continued that before winning, he had a dream in the middle of the night before the draw that he would ordain his two sons and one grandchild. He woke up startled, wondering if he would win the lottery or if something would happen to his family. He immediately called his youngest son. Then he and his wife rode their motorcycle to work as usual. At 3:30 p.m., they took out the lottery tickets and watched the draw results on screen.

When the three-digit front, three-digit back, and two-digit prizes were announced, none of their tickets won. When the first prize number was announced as 763895, he placed his ticket in front of him and listened carefully. Upon hearing the number, he was stunned and numb, rubbing his eyes and repeatedly reading the ticket's numbers, date, and year until he was sure he had won the first prize. He slapped his face and head to confirm he was not dreaming.

He quickly dressed, put on his helmet, and called his wife: “Let's go home, we're fine now, we're rich, we won the first prize.” He told her to return home immediately. On the way, he felt excited while his wife urged him to drive calmly. They rode their motorcycle from the factory back home happily. They then went to report the win at the Pho Hak Police Station and returned home to keep the tickets in a safe place, planning to claim the prize money at the Government Lottery Office promptly.

The total prize money of 12 million baht will be used to fulfill their long-held dream, as their two sons are nearly 30 years old and have not yet had ordination ceremonies. Early in 2026, they plan to hold ordinations for their two sons and one grandchild, totaling three ordinations. They will also set aside money for their children to buy houses and support their families. They intend to pay off all their debts and plan future careers, as Mr. Somyot is 60 and prefers not to travel far anymore. Additionally, they will use part of the money to make merit as they have intended.
