Lottery Enthusiasts Anticipate Lucky Numbers from Firecrackers at Opera Performance Honoring Guan Yu at Wat Sawang Arom

Lottery enthusiasts eagerly await 'lucky numbers' from firecrackers during an opera show offered in gratitude before the deity Guan Yu at Wat Sawang Arom in Nakhon Pathom, hoping for good luck as the new year 2026 approaches.

On 22 Dec 2025 GMT+7, it was reported that on the morning of 21 Dec at Wat Sawang Arom, Khaek Thao, Khun Kaeo Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, many devotees and lottery hopefuls gathered enthusiastically to pay respects to sacred objects within the temple. These included the revered Phra Ngern Phra Thong (Money and Gold Buddha), Luang Pho Ruay (a sacred Buddha statue), Ta Thong Ngiu Rai, Guman Juk Dam, and the Guman Thong Nong Kao Love Love 30 million. On weekends, Phra Kru Yothi Thammanuyut, also known as Luang Pho Pae, the abbot, personally receives large alms.

Meanwhile, Ms. Suphanan, 43, from Samut Sakhon Province and a real estate business owner who previously received blessings from the sacred objects at Wat Sawang Arom, brought an opera troupe to perform in praise and homage to the temple's sacred objects in front of the deity Guan Yu mounted on a warhorse, aiming to bring auspiciousness at year-end.

The opera troupe, dressed in traditional costumes, sang and danced to music, delighting the devotees visiting to make merit. After the performance, they passed under the warhorse statue of Guan Yu while tying red threads for good fortune and safety. Then, firecrackers were lit to mark the occasion, revealing the lucky numbers 275 and 01.

Ms. Suphanan revealed that this opera offering was a prayer and tribute, with dancers honoring the deity Guan Yu to accumulate merit together with the temple. This offering marked the year-end celebration and the Chinese Tangyuan Festival, similar to bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new one. It was a propitious moment to pray for success in business and life. Having previously prayed to Guan Yu and had her wishes fulfilled, she now brought the opera as an offering.
