A Thai woman who succeeded in business in Sweden sent relatives to fulfill a vow. "Grandfather Srisuttho and Grandmother Sripathumma." Additionally, she received "lucky lottery numbers." to try her luck.
On 26 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters at Wat Sawang Arom, Khun Kaeo Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, reported from the Rahu Pavilion Eight Directions. This is the site housing statues of Grandfather Srisuttho and Grandmother Sripathumma, the Naga serpent deities, one of the sacred places in the temple. Many people flock here to pray for blessings and lottery luck before the draw days and to pray during the year-end and New Year period, believing these deities grant fortune to worshippers.
Ms. Nee, 55, from Udon Thani, brought 100 pairs of traditional offering trays (bai sri), 2 pairs of angelic bai sri, nine types of fruit, and nine kinds of auspicious sweets to fulfill her vow to Grandfather Srisuttho and Grandmother Sripathumma. She also brought two Naga dancers, descendants from Udon Thani, to perform a dance in front of the statue as part of the vow fulfillment. The two dancers wore full ceremonial costumes, performing to traditional music in red shawls and green attire. Before dancing, they lit incense and candles to announce the ritual, with Brahmin master Arunrun Ruangmuangyot officiating to ensure the vow ceremony was completed successfully.
Ms. Nee revealed she represented her niece who had gone to prosper in Sweden but could not come to fulfill the vow herself. She was entrusted to arrange offerings and conduct the ritual to Grandfather Srisuttho and Grandmother Sripathumma. Two years ago, the niece worked as a clerk in a factory near Sam Phran District, close to the temple, where she had the chance to pray to the deities, wishing to travel to Sweden for business after a friend invited her. She asked for success so she could send money back to support her family in Thailand.
Shortly after the prayer, the friend in Sweden invited her to work there due to better wages. She borrowed money to travel and, after about two years, met a wealthy husband. She opened a Thai restaurant, which prospered with many customers, generating good income. She was able to send money back to support her parents and family comfortably.
Two weeks ago, the niece called to say she had made a vow to the Naga deities at Wat Sawang Arom that if successful, she would return to fulfill the vow. She asked Ms. Nee to fulfill it on her behalf first, promising that next year she would bring her Swedish husband to visit and make merit at the temple. For this reason, Ms. Nee came to fulfill the vow with the dancers. She also emphasized that this temple has brought luck to many people and requested the dancers to pick the lucky lottery numbers from the lottery balls to possibly bring more wealth.
After completing the vow ritual, the dancers picked three lottery balls from the basket, revealing the number 127. Ms. Nee immediately called to share the number and also wished for luck for her children to prosper like her niece before departing.
