Lottery Enthusiasts Seek Luck from Grandfather Thong Ngiu Rai Hoping for Lucky Numbers to Win Big in New Year 2026

Lottery enthusiasts seek luck from “Grandfather Thong Ngiu Rai” at Wat Sawang Arom, Nakhon Pathom Province, hoping to obtain “lucky numbers” to try their luck and become wealthy in the 2026 New Year.

This morning (28 Dec 2025) at Wat Sawang Arom, Khaek Thao, Khun Kaeo Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, just three days before the start of the new year 2026, devotees and lottery hopefuls came to ask for blessings and luck from the sacred figures within the temple. The long New Year holiday led to crowds flocking to the temple.

Especially at the sermon hall where the statues of Phra Ngern Phra Thong are located, many visitors make a point to pay respects there. They come to seek blessings from “Phra Ngern Phra Thong.” Some who have received blessings bring offerings to Grandfather Thong; those who have won big sometimes present gold. Others bring energy drinks, cigarettes, coffee, or clothing sets.

Mrs. Samna Malisan, 64, from Sing Buri Province, one of the visitors seeking blessings, brought her 5-year-old grandson Nong Rumruay to pay respects to Phra Ngern Phra Thong and ask for luck from Grandfather Thong Ngiu Rai. Mrs. Samna presented flowers, incense, candles, and a tray holding a hat, clothes, glasses, and a white loincloth, lit incense to announce her intentions, and made the offering.

Afterward, she let her grandson pick three eggs from a basket, believing he would bring luck just like his name, which means 'rich.' They drew the number 099. She revealed that if they receive luck from Grandfather Thong Ngiu Rai, regardless of the size of the prize, she will dedicate Nong Rumruay as a devotee of Grandfather Thong Ngiu Rai and will present a one-baht gold necklace as a New Year’s blessing.

Meanwhile, Luang Por Pae received offerings and led a ceremony involving candle wax dripping and anointing hand yantras for the devotees to mark the year’s end and welcome the new year. Hundreds of people lined up to receive yantra markings and make offerings. He invited devotees to join the Great Yaksha chanting ceremony to enhance good fortune and dispel evil influences, scheduled for 31 Dec 2025 from 18:00 onwards, followed by a New Year’s Eve chanting session. On New Year’s morning, there will be an offering ceremony, candle wax dripping, and hand yantra anointing for auspiciousness. He encouraged everyone to participate in the year-end and New Year ceremonies.

Reporters also noted that inside the temple grounds, over 50 lottery booths displayed their lucky numbers for the current draw, which falls on Friday. The favored numbers are 6, 3, and 5, with the holy water basin number being 812.
