Last year’s good fortune led a woman from Udon Thani to bring her family to make merit at Phu Ta Phao Thong Temple, seeking luck from "Grandfather Mucalinth Naga and the Golden Takhian Log." She lit incense for divination and drew lottery numbers for 2 Jan 2026.
On 28 Dec 2025, reporters noted that during the long holiday for the year-end and New Year 2026 festival, many Buddhists, tourists, spiritual followers, Naga devotees, and lottery enthusiasts returning home visited Phu Ta Phao Thong Temple in Kud Mak Fai Subdistrict, Nong Wua So District, Udon Thani Province, in large numbers.
Visitors began by performing rituals to dispel bad luck at the Golden Ship Rock, praying for blessings, luck, love, career, and prosperous business before the revered Grandfather Ariyasap, Jade Stone Grandfather, Grandfather Mucalinth Naga, and the two thousand-year-old Takhian logs—Golden Takhian sisters, the Golden Takhian Mother and Thip—who grant luck to believers and devotees.
Among them was Ms. Natthaphat Tatsaniyom, known as Piew, 35, from Chiang Phin Subdistrict, Mueang District, Udon Thani, who drove from home to make merit in fulfillment of a vow and to pray for lucky numbers from Grandfather Mucalinth Naga and the two thousand-year-old Golden Takhian sisters after winning tens of thousands last year.
Ms. Natthaphat revealed that she and her family returned home during the year-end and New Year festival, providing an opportunity to fulfill her vow. This was her second visit to pray for luck, career, and blessings from the sacred entities at Phu Ta Phao Thong Temple after winning six tickets for the last two digits prize last year. She now hopes for prizes in the hundreds of thousands, millions, or even the first prize. Tomorrow also marks her 35th birthday.
She added that before driving home, Grandfather Mucalinth appeared to her in a dream, appearing in the temple pond as if inviting her to come and fulfill her vow, as she had promised last year. This time, she lit incense for divination, receiving the number 588 from Grandfather Mucalinth, and drew the number 378 from the urn of the Golden Takhian Mother and Thip.
These numbers matched the license plate of the car she drove from Chonburi Province. If she wins the first prize or a bigger prize than last year, she plans to return to fulfill her vow and donate toward completing the construction of the floating ubosot at Phu Ta Phao Thong Temple, which is still under construction.
