Lottery enthusiasts came to seek luck at the “Rice Husk Shrine” of Nong Tao Temple in Ang Thong Province, making sure to light auspicious incense and draw numbers, hoping to get "lucky numbers" to try their fortune in the 2026 New Year.
On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reports said that at the Rice Husk Shrine, Nong Tao Temple, Village 5, Bang Plub Subdistrict, Pho Thong District, Ang Thong Province, locals and lottery seekers gathered to pay respects and ask for lucky numbers ahead of the lottery draw. Currently, the site is an abandoned temple, with only the remains of a shrine over 100 years old, approximately 6 meters wide and 12 meters long, built of bricks. A large Bodhi tree and banyan tree grow in the middle, providing shade over the shrine. There is a mysterious story passed down that a man and woman dressed in traditional Thai costumes appear from the shrine at night, dancing accompanied by the sounds of traditional Thai piphat music.
Previously, many lottery seekers have continuously visited to pray for good fortune. Those whose wishes came true would return to fulfill their vows. Today, the visitors lit auspicious incense and obtained the number 516, then drew the number 305 from a container. Many plan to use these numbers to try their luck in the lottery draw on 2 January 2026.
