A housewife traveled to ask for luck from 'Luang Pho Somwang' at Wat Klang Bang Phra after having won several times before. She was not disappointed, receiving 'lucky numbers' to try her luck on 2 Jan 2026.
On 29 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters reported that at Wat Klang Bang Phra (Luang Pho Somwang), Bang Phra Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, the atmosphere near lottery draw day and the approaching new year 2026 CE attracted many Thai and foreign visitors who came to the temple to pay respects, ask for blessings, and seek luck and success.
Ms. Nui Thongprasert, 50, a housewife from Bangkok, revealed that she regularly visits to pay respects to Luang Pho Somwang whenever she has free time on weekends. Each visit, she brings various fruits on a tray as an offering, lights incense to notify the spirits, then makes merit by gilding the statue's right hand. After finishing, she prays for luck and shakes a lottery stick container (siam see) every time.
After receiving the lottery sticks' numbers, she buys lottery tickets. Previously, she has won prizes for three-digit and two-digit numbers, buying 5 to 10 tickets each time, which encourages her to come often. This time, near the year's end and new year's arrival, she hopes to win a big prize. She asked Luang Pho Somwang for luck and shook the lottery sticks to drop two sticks each time, shaking three times, getting the numbers 20, 21, and 27. She plans to buy lottery tickets with these numbers, favoring 27 most. If she wins a big prize, she intends to return to make a major merit donation to the temple and Luang Pho Somwang.
