3-Year-Old Niece Picks Lottery for Aunt Who Complains About Numbers but Wins 6 Million Baht First Prize

Nakhon Phanom: A 3-year-old niece picked a lottery ticket for her 54-year-old aunt, who looked at it and complained that the numbers weren't attractive but still tucked it into her pocket. Ultimately, she was lucky enough to win the first prize of 6 million baht.

On 2 January 2026, reporters reported that following the government lottery draw on 2 January 2026, the first prize number was 837706, the front three-digit numbers were 694 and 347, the last three-digit numbers were 288 and 765, and the last two-digit number was 16. Shortly after, a Facebook user named “Katriya Khwanma” posted briefly, “Such luck, 6 million baht,” along with a photo of a cute little girl holding lottery ticket number 837706. Investigation revealed the first prize winner is from Ban Sukcharoen, Village No. 10, Ban Phueng Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Phanom Province.

Reporters visited house number 39, Village No. 10, Ban Sukcharoen, which belongs to Mrs. Sonklin Kaewklom, known as Aunt Nok, aged 54, the lucky winner welcoming the new year 2026. She showed the single winning lottery ticket, with relatives gathering to offer congratulations.

Aunt Nok, the new millionaire, said the lucky charm was her 3-year-old niece Milin. On 31 December 2025, New Year's Eve, the little niece attended a family gathering with her mother. Someone selling lottery tickets on a motorcycle stopped by. Most tickets were sold in pairs, but there was only one single ticket left—the niece picked it from the stand and ran home to ask for 100 baht to buy it. When Aunt Nok looked at the numbers, she complained they weren't nice but still stuffed the ticket into her wallet to keep.

On the lottery draw day, she only remembered the last two digits '06' and took the ticket out to check. She then realized she had won the first prize and never dreamed she would win 6 million baht. She credited her niece for bringing luck all the way to her home.

Regarding plans for the money, Aunt Nok revealed she will use it to complete her unfinished house and donate to local temples. In Ban Sukcharoen, there are both Christian and Buddhist temples, so she plans to give to both. She will also use part of the money as educational funds for her two nephews. Meanwhile, Mr. Rong, her husband, hugged and kissed her after hearing the news. He said, “My wife has struggled for more than 30 years; now she can enjoy life.” Then he went to connect speakers on the back of their pickup truck to play music celebrating their 6 million baht New Year luck.
