After returning home from the long New Year holiday, especially spiritual devotees gathered to pray and fulfill vows to Thao Wessuwan and Ai Khai, revered sacred figures widely believed to grant luck, fortune, business success, career advancement, health, and overall well-being. Some brought offerings such as red soda, garlands, flowers, rice, and large sets of vow offerings after wishes were fulfilled, aiming to try their luck again.
Mr. Wutthichai Mankhuntod brought three packs of red soda and a large set of vow offerings to fulfill his promise to Thao Wessuwan after receiving a large lottery prize in the previous draw and experiencing business success. Mr. Wutthichai, who owns a wholesale crispy pork shop at Pornphat Market, said he first visited to pray to Thao Wessuwan in late December because his business was struggling. He intended to pray for prosperity in his business, and after his prayers, sales steadily improved. Additionally, he was pleasantly surprised when he bought five lottery tickets the day he prayed and won the two-digit prize.
Mr. Wutthichai also said that normally he does not play the lottery and had never bought a ticket before. However, after his first visit to pray to Thao Wessuwan, he bought lottery tickets for the first time and won the two-digit prize immediately. He then came back to fulfill his vow and, before leaving, lit incense sticks to seek lucky numbers, receiving 10 and 21 to try his luck again.
Ms. Wannawimon Singharn traveled from Chonburi Province, bringing nine bags of rice and offerings to fulfill her vow to Thao Wessuwan after successfully passing the local government civil service exam as she had wished.
Ms. Wannawimon said that earlier in 2025, she came to pray to Thao Wessuwan to help her pass the local government civil service exam. The exam had many stages and many applicants. Although confident, she sought spiritual support for peace of mind. After each exam stage, she passed until finally being appointed as a civil servant as hoped. She and her family were very happy, so she came to fulfill her vow and, before leaving, lit incense sticks for a divination, receiving the number 74 to try her luck again.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mo, a Karen ethnic group member and one of the lucky winners, said he works at a car repair shop in Phra Pradaeng and was visiting his girlfriend near Khlong Jet. He came to pray to Thao Wessuwan for the New Year and donated money to buy land for the temple. When drawing from a lucky box, he won a one-salung gold ring.
