The owner of a housing project brought 19 boiled chickens and 200 boiled eggs to fulfill a vow to Luang Pho Somwang after successfully selling all the houses as requested. He did not forget to light incense to divine lucky numbers to share with his staff for the lottery on 17/1/26.
On the morning of 13 Jan 2026, at Wat Klang Bang Phra, Bang Phra Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom, near the lottery draw date, many worshippers and lottery hopefuls came to pay respects and pray to Luang Pho Somwang, a sacred Buddha statue in the Maravichai or Mara-resisting posture, over 30 meters tall. They also paid respects to the incorruptible body of Luang Pho Phut, a renowned former abbot who passed away over 30 years ago; his body is preserved in a glass coffin in a large pavilion. Additionally, they worship the ancient Thao Wessuwan statue, donated by Luang Pho Nueang of Wat Chulamanee to Luang Pho Phut, located beside Luang Pho Somwang’s hall. These are revered by both Thai and foreign visitors.
At the same time, Mr. Kittiphat Thongchai, from Om Noi, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province, owner of a housing project in Samut Sakhon, came to fulfill his vow to Luang Pho Somwang. He brought 19 boiled chickens, 9 garlands, and 200 boiled eggs arranged on a table provided by the temple. He lit incense to notify the deities, struck a victory gong, and applied gold leaf to a replica of Luang Pho Somwang placed in front of the main statue, also applying gold leaf to the right hand of the large Luang Pho Somwang statue as a sign of completing his vow.
Mr. Kittiphat revealed that today he brought 19 boiled chickens, 200 boiled eggs, and 9 garlands to fulfill his vow to Luang Pho Somwang. As the owner of a housing project in Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon, he had prayed to Luang Pho Somwang in mid-2025, asking that all houses built in the project be sold. He promised to offer boiled chickens, eggs, and garlands if successful. After only six months, customers bought all the houses, and the project was completed successfully. He returned to fulfill his vow accordingly.
He also spoke of his faith in Luang Pho Somwang, saying that every time he prays, his wishes are granted. This was his fourth time coming to fulfill a vow. Since it was around New Year and near Chinese New Year, he also asked for lottery luck to share with his staff, lighting auspicious incense sticks and receiving the number 424.
He then entered the pavilion housing the incorruptible body of Luang Pho Phut, the former abbot and famous monk of Wat Klang Bang Phra who passed away but whose body remains preserved in a glass coffin, allowing worshippers to pay respects and receive blessings before leaving.
