A man from Nong Bua Lamphu took his family back home after the New Year, seizing the chance to seek luck at Phu Tha Phao Thong Temple by paying respects to Grandfather Mujalin and the Takian Goddess, and got chills from the "lucky number 17/1/69" which coincides with Teacher's Day.
On 16 January 2026, which was Teacher's Day, falling on a Friday, the waning 13th lunar day of the second month in the Year of the Snake, and one day before the lottery draw on 17/1/69, many Buddhists, tourists, merit-makers, Naga enthusiasts, and lottery enthusiasts visited Phu Tha Phao Thong Temple in Kud Mak Fai Subdistrict, Nong Wua So District, Udon Thani Province to make merit and seek lucky numbers from sacred objects.
Visitors began by performing rituals to avert misfortune by passing through the Golden Junk Ship rock, then prayed for blessings, luck, love, career, and prosperity from Father Ariyasap, Jade Rock Grandfather, Grandfather Mujalin Nakharat, and the thousand-year-old twin Takian trees, the Golden Takian Goddess and Tip, who have granted luck to countless believers.
Today, Mr. Chonlatit Khongasa, 36, from Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu, an inspector at a factory in Rayong Province, came with his family to seek blessings and luck from the sacred entities at Phu Tha Phao Thong Temple. He said that he and his wife work at a factory in Rayong, and during the New Year holidays, they did not take time off due to urgent work. They took leave later to visit their hometown and took the opportunity to make merit at the temple for the first time after hearing on social media that the sacred objects here grant wishes, especially for luck, with many people reportedly winning first prizes in the lottery.
Upon arriving at the temple, he felt a refreshing coolness and peace of mind. He burned incense to seek numbers from Grandfather Mujalin Nakharat and received 190. Closing his eyes, he drew an egg from a jar and got 561, which made him shiver because both places gave numbers with similar digits — the 6 and 9 being the same digit, plus the number 1. This also matched the Teacher's Day number 16.
He also said that if he gains luck as he requested, he will surely return to help contribute to building the temple’s floating ubosot. He invited spiritual tourists to come make merit and seek luck at this temple, hoping that if anyone wins big, they will join in helping to complete the floating ubosot as a place of worship for Buddhists in the future.
