A man from Samut Songkhram brought his grandparents to make merit at Phu Ta Phao Thong Temple in Udon Thani Province. He sought lottery luck by lighting divination incense and drawing eggs from a jar, successfully obtaining "lucky numbers" to try his fortune.
On 25 Jan 2026, the 7th day of the waxing moon in the 3rd lunar month of the Year of the Snake, which was a Sunday holiday, Phu Ta Phao Thong Temple in Kut Mak Fai Subdistrict, Nong Wua So District, Udon Thani, saw a steady flow of Buddhists, tourists, devotees of the Naga serpent, and lottery enthusiasts visiting to make merit and seek lucky numbers from sacred objects. Visitors began by performing rituals to avert misfortune at the Golden Ship Rock, then prayed for luck, love, career, and business success from Grandfather Ariyasap, Grandfather Jade Stone, Grandfather Mujalinth Naga, and the two ancient Takhian trees, the Golden Takhian Mother Spirit - Thip, who are believed to grant blessings to those with faith.
Anan, also known as Ton, 34, from Samut Songkhram Province, came with his grandparents and relatives from Nong Wua So District, Udon Thani, to seek blessings and luck for their careers from the sacred entities at Phu Ta Phao Thong Temple. He prayed and lit divination incense to request lucky numbers from Grandfather Mujalinth Naga, receiving the number 117. Then, closing his eyes, he drew an egg from a jar to ask for numbers from the Golden Takhian Mother Spirit - Thip and received number 739. Before drawing, Anan stood with hands raised in a wai gesture, whispering by the ear of the Golden Takhian Mother Spirit to ask for luck and lucky numbers, as it was his first time traveling so far to seek fortune at this temple.
Anan explained that today he had the chance to bring his grandparents to pray for their good health to the sacred entities at Phu Ta Phao Thong Temple. It was his first visit after learning about the temple from social media. He personally came to ask for career blessings since he is currently searching for a new job and holds beliefs in the Naga serpent, as his mother is from Nong Wua So District, Udon Thani.
After lighting the divination incense, the lucky number from Grandfather Mujalinth Naga was 117. When closing his eyes and drawing an egg from the jar for the Golden Takhian Mother Spirit, he received the number 739, which he already favored as a personal auspicious number. He hopes to win the first prize since he has never won before. If he does win, he plans to organize a donation event to help build the temple’s sky-high ordination hall, which is still under construction, with his grandparents as hosts of the donation drive.
