A man, driven by faith after recovering his stolen motorcycle, brought fresh eggs to fulfill a vow to "Luang Pho Somwang" at Wat Klang Bang Phra in Nakhon Pathom province. Before leaving, he raised his hands above his head to pray once more, hoping to receive lucky numbers for the lottery draw on 1 Feb 2026.
On 30 Jan 2026, it was reported that the previous day (29 Jan) at Wat Klang Bang Phra (Luang Pho Somwang), Bang Phra Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom province, lottery enthusiasts came to pay respects to Luang Pho Somwang, a sacred Buddha statue in the Mara Vichai posture, standing over 30 meters tall. It is revered by both Thai and foreign visitors. Those who come typically apply gold leaf to the statue’s right hand, then receive blessings at the outdoor blessing area. Those who have made vows return to fulfill them.
Every day, offerings such as pig heads, eggs, drinking water, and rice are arranged across the courtyard. These items reflect the faith of those who come to fulfill their vows. The atmosphere is lively daily.
Meanwhile, in the morning, Mr. Sutthikan Saisuk, 35, from Bang Kruai, Nonthaburi province, arrived carrying 1,000 fresh eggs and 99 packs of drinking water to fulfill his vow to Luang Pho Somwang. Upon arrival, he arranged the eggs on a table set up by the temple in the front courtyard, then lit incense to announce his prayer and struck the gong for auspiciousness. Mr. Sutthikan revealed that over three months ago, his newly purchased motorcycle was stolen while parked as he bought something in Nonthaburi.
He reported the theft to Nonthaburi Police Station and tried every method, including posting on Facebook and asking for help to find the motorcycle. He also reviewed CCTV footage but found no clues. About a week ago, a friend invited him to visit a temple in Nakhon Pathom, and he stopped to pay respects to Luang Pho Somwang. During this visit, he prayed and made a vow to the statue that if he recovered his motorcycle, he would return to offer eggs in thanks.
Just two days after returning home, the police informed him that a tip had come in about the location of the motorcycle. The police arrested the thief and recovered the stolen motorcycle. They filed charges against the criminal, and Mr. Sutthikan collected his motorcycle. He felt very happy because he had bought the motorcycle with hard-earned money. He raised his hands above his head, recalling his vow to Luang Pho Somwang. He said it was incredible; he had not expected to get the motorcycle back, but suddenly, after making the vow, it was returned.
Today, he came to fulfill his vow to Luang Pho Somwang as promised. Before leaving, he prayed again for lottery luck, hoping to win some money since he had spent a lot searching for the motorcycle. He took out a banknote to donate and chose one note to use the last digits for buying lottery tickets before offering the donation. The banknote’s serial number ended with 3 H 0 6 2 9 8 7 8. He raised his hands above his head again, vowing that if he wins, he would return to offer a pig’s head and eggs. Before heading home, he bought lottery tickets matching the banknote numbers and left.
