The atmosphere at the ceremony was full of faith. Villagers brought seven-colored cloths to offer as vow fulfillment along with complete offerings. A large twin rubber tree, several hundred years old and standing beside the shrine, symbolized the sacredness of the place.
Mr. Prathan Chanda, 59, from Sangha Subdistrict, Sangha District, Surin Province, revealed that this was the first time villagers held such a grand worship ceremony. He noted that if weapons were used, soldiers and local residents along the border would suffer the most. He also suggested clearly defining border lines to prevent future conflicts.
Nevertheless, villagers firmly believe in the protective power of Mae Yai Tai to safeguard their descendants and brave soldiers along the border from harm, maintaining peace in the region. Meanwhile, lottery hopefuls observed the auspicious incense numbers lit during the ceremony. The number appeared as115, which they hope to use for the lottery draw on 16 Mar 2026.
