
A 60-year-old man recounted the tense moment when he saw his pickup truck roll into a pond right before his eyes after parking to visit the "Lamduan Flower Festival" in Sisaket Province. Locals eagerly took note of the vehicle's license plate after the owner revealed it had brought him luck three times before already.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities were foundfrom the Disaster Prevention Departmentof Sisaket Municipality along with rescue personnel from the Sawangjit Sisaket Dhammasathan Rescue Unit and the Sawangjit Sisaket Dhammasathan Water Operations Team, who were diving to tie ropes to retrieve the vehicle that had fallen into the pond.
Interviewed, Mr. Jeen Chaisrisah, 60, owner of the vehicle that fell into the pond, said he is from Khukhan District. Today, he drove a 2-door Isuzu D-Max pickup truck with a cab, bringing his grandchild to take an exam at a school in Sisaket Province. There were four people in total. He parked in the lot at Suan Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Park, closed the door, and got out to attend the festival. Suddenly, he realized he had left the keys inside the vehicle, so he ran back to check. At that moment, he saw the vehicle rolling down into the pond. He didn’t know what to do because the doors were locked and the keys were inside. He tried to hold the vehicle back but couldn’t stop it as it slid into the pond and disappeared before his eyes.
Mr. Jeen continued that at first, he had planned not to get out to walk around but to rest inside the vehicle. If he had stayed inside, he might have been trapped and drowned with the vehicle. It was a stroke of bad luck mixed withsome good fortune,and this vehicle involved in the incidentsinceNew Year 2026 has brought him luck in three lottery draws, and he believes this vehiclewill likelybring him luck again.
Meanwhile, officialstookmore than two hours to recover the vehicle from the water using tow and slide trucks. After the vehicle was recovered from the pond, Mr. Jeen went toretrieve his walletwhich wasinside the vehicle,and showed lottery tickets bearing the vehicle’s license plate to the bystanders, who then rushed to buy lottery tickets with the same number,hoping to find luckin the upcoming 16 March 2026 draw.
