School Principal Wins 18 Million Baht Lottery Prize After Buying Unsold Tickets to Support Junior

A school principal won the first prize in the lottery and shared that his luck came from asking a junior to find numbers containing the digit “3.” He ended up buying three unsold tickets with the number 3 and did not expect to win the grand prize, receiving 18 million baht.

On the evening of 16 March 2026, reporters were informed that a local resident in Sala Daeng subdistrict, Bang Nam Priao district, Chachoengsao province, had won three first-prize lottery tickets totaling 18 million baht. The winner was on their way to file a report at Lam Phak Chi Metropolitan Police Station in Bangkok, an area bordering Chachoengsao.

Upon investigation, reporters met Mr. Sinat Satitkul, 43, principal of Sala Khu School in Nong Chok district, Bangkok. He arrived with his wife, Ms. Kamonrat Janhom, 42, to officially file a record of the win.

Mr. Sinat explained that he is from Village 15, Sala Daeng subdistrict, Bang Nam Priao district, Chachoengsao. He chose to report at Lam Phak Chi Police Station because a police friend works there and the station is closer to his area than Bang Nam Priao Police Station.

Regarding the lottery numbers he bought, he ordered the tickets from Mr. Krisada Thongsri, 37, a lottery vendor in Khlong Luang Paeng subdistrict, Mueang Chachoengsao district. Mr. Krisada is a junior acquaintance from their high school days. The purchase was made online, and Sinat asked Krisada to find numbers containing the digit 3 because it was the date his nephew passed away. Since the desired number was unavailable, Krisada chose tickets with any number containing 3.

Later, Krisada selected the number 833009, which had three unsold tickets remaining, and sent photos via Messenger as proof. At first, Sinat accepted them without paying much attention to the number. On lottery day in the afternoon, Krisada called to inform him that he had won the first prize. Initially doubtful, Sinat rechecked and then quickly called his wife. He plans to use the money to pay off debts, redeem land titles for his mother, save for his children’s education, and assist relatives.

Mr. Krisada, the junior lottery vendor, gave Sinat 30,000 baht and said he is willing to help with further support amounting to hundreds of thousands of baht because Sinat is a very good person.

Ms. Kamonrat, the lucky winner’s wife, said that when her husband called to say he had won the first prize, she was skeptical since he usually jokes around. But hearing the joy in his voice, almost to tears, she called back to confirm and realized it was true. She was very happy, and her husband was on his way to collect the tickets from the junior vendor.

Mr. Krisada, the lottery vendor, said the tickets were unsold ones from the bottom of the rack. The principal seemed to want to support his junior, who still had unsold tickets. Krisada picked those numbers and sent them via Messenger. Upon learning the win, he was happy for the principal and called him before they both went to file the official report as evidence today.
